13 Jul Morono Kiang presents Beyond Impressions
Morono Kiang Gallery is pleased to announce, Beyond Impressions, a new exhibition of prints representing a broad spectrum of contemporary printmaking techniques by a diverse group of artists including Sandow Birk, Sonia Romero, Robbie Conal, Ricardo Duffy, Alexis Soto, Victor Gastelum.

Opening reception will be held on Saturday July 23, 2011 from 6-9 pm.
The exhibition also includes Architectural Museography III, an installation of selected prints from El Nopal Press by Francesco X. Siquieros. Architectural Museography III as Mr. Siquieros states is “an experiment in alternative exhibition ideas whereby the artworks can be viewed individually as well as dependent on the dynamic of the whole.”
Beyond Impressions showcases prints as original artworks by both emerging and established artists who employ printmaking among the other mediums and formats that constitute their artistic practice. Etchings, lithographs, woodcuts, linocuts, monoprints, and silkscreens are some of the various types of prints that the artists in the exhibit used as a medium of choice.
Prints offered in the exhibition demand to be viewed as original works of art, not merely reproduced or reproducible works. Beyond Impressions has as much to do with our imprint on contemporary life as the array of printmaking processes showcased here.
